In 2001, our costumer faced a logistical challenge: pearl carbon black had to be continuously fed into the production process at a height of around 25 metres.
The original plan was to transport fully loaded containers manually upwards.
However, this approach was time-consuming, labour-intensive and prone to failure. The company was looking for a solution that would deliver long-term performance without requiring daily feats of strength.
The answer: a NERAK angular bucket elevator (WB 300). It transports the material over two conveyor cascades, without intermediate transfer points, over a total distance of approximately 70 m to the feed point in the process.
Installed in cooperation with our subsidiary NERAK A/S, the system completely replaces the manual lifting process – and has ensured a smooth material flow ever since.
More than two decades later, the conveyor continues to perform reliably day after day – outdoors, at temperatures ranging from –30 °C to +30 °C, in wind, rain and snow. Without any loss of performance.
Without any significant downtime. A true example of sustainable plant technology that pays off in the long term.
